Chillin’ on a Patch of Grass

Angel pondering life on her little patch of grass Day Five….let’s see, what can we worry about today? Oh so many things, but let’s focus on the positive. Angel is eating and drinking fine, and as you can read in yesterday’s post, she finally had a BM….she sleeps a lot, but she did that before surgery so I’m not worrying about that. Yesterday she cautiously hopped out to the patio and layed on a patch of grass I put out there for her. So cute; the cat likes it too.

Angel on Tuesday

Tripawds RockWhile she got up to peepee this morning, I was a bit worried because she was lethargic and not moving much, but the minute Jace and I stood up to get ready to run to the store, she got up quickly and wagged her tail. I think she thought it was time to go to her doggie park, and she didn’t cotton much to staying with gramma Maine. When I got home she was standing in the middle of the floor waiting for us. She is sulking a bit now, probably due to the fact that she didn’t get to go with us and in her mind we probably went to romp around her park.

Angel is Home After Surgery

Angel home for a few hours in her pink t shirt....
Angel home for a few hours in her pink t shirt….
Angel came home this morning, the day after her amputation surgery. The  doctor said she is a rock star! My sister, Tami, and my son, Jamean, came with me to pick her up. (My mother and my niece, Maura, were waiting back home for her return.) The tech said she was hopping a bit last night four hour after surgery. When I  picked her up, Tami had them put a t shirt on her because I was so nervous about seeing the incision, but it’s not as bad as I thought, though it is startling to see my girl 24  hours after I dropped her off with an entire appendage gone……but she’s still my sweetie pie. She had her harness on when we walked her into our apartment, but she was so tired we tried to carry her and she made a painful noise, so we let her hop. I am worried about how to get her to the potty outside as I don’t think I should use her harness until the incision is healed. For right now, I am just happy she is home and sleeping on her favorite blanky.
