This is the closest I can get Angel to the stroller. If I put chicken inside, she will put her head in and grab it, but she just doesn’t like anything wheeled except cars. Once I get her in, I think she will like it, but it may just end up as a fixture in the living room. Tuesday is Angel’s second chemo visit. I don’t think I ever stop thinking about time, and I really want to stop obsessing. She had blood work done on Monday, and the tech said her platelets were a bit low, but her white count was okay, so we will do the chemo as scheduled. Lately I have read the blogs and forums of some beautiful pets that have passed, and no one could have a dry eye reading about the love these parents have for their Tripawds. I wish I could take the pawrents pain away. Angel is doing well. She eats way too much, though the reason I want to get her in the stroller is that she tires so easily when hopping any distance. There’s still a few sunny days left here in Washington, and she sunbathes a bit on the deck of our apartment. Wish us luck at our chemo appointment, and let’s hope it goes as good as the last one.
Angel is such a sweetheart! Love how her whole body language is saying”NO” to that stroller!
She’s still very early in recovery and still building up her muscle strength. She’s happy just being with you and that’s all that matters.
Sorry I missed your blog until today….these things just go up and down too quickly! You can alsways post in the “discussion forumms” too….a lot of people do both.
Now, about that time frame thing…..which we all understand to well! At some point…..and you are there ow….the switch just clicks on and the entire focus is all aout staying present in the moment. “Living like a dog” as I like to say.
There will be a time for grief waaaaaaay down the road. So do NOT let let seep into the time together you have with Angel right now!:-) 🙂 Manyill tell you that the worrying about time frames robbed them of the joy od living in the moment until they finally made the switch.
Do we all want more time no matter how much ks given? You betcha” But t worry avoutit won’t change a thing. When it’s their time…..it’s their time. Believe me, I haven’t mastered this all the time either, but I’m jist passing on my 2¢ in hopes that it helps. I understand.
And remember, Angel is not worrying aout a thing…..except how she can avoid that stroller! And she certainly doesn’t care about any ole’ stupid diagnosis or dumb statistics! She’s making ner own rules!
Oh yeah, my dog is overweight too and I’m working on that…..but not very well…..she’s up from 115 lbs. after surgery to 118 lbs!! Thought maybe the chemo would make her drop some punds…nope!!
Just a thought….you might want to post nder “Anything goes” and start a thread asking if anyone has tips on nelping Angel learn to love her stroller!
You hang in tnere! Angel’s doing great! Fi d that switch and click it on! Now go do something to make Angel wag……….bet it was giving ner a cookie!
Surrounding you with the bliss of being in the moment with Angel!
Sally and Hapy Hannah
enjoy each day and give an extra snuggle at night… try not to focus on the time issue.. you can worry about that much, much later!!
I hope she takes to the stroller.. that would be awesome if she did!!
How cool is that chilling in the great outdoors, being pulled along behind your favorite person in the world, tongue lollygagging as the breeze hits your face..
heck.. if she doesn’t take to the stroller I am sure a few of us here will!!!
lol
Christine…. with Franklin in her heart♥
Angel, you are looking good pretty girl! I hope this week goes well with everything, we will be thinking of you.
That stroller looks super nice. You might want to have your Mom contact our friends at MySmartPuppy.com. They have some expert dog trainers staffing the Forums and I’m gonna bet they have more suggestions for teaching you about how much FUN it is to go places in the chariot. Why not give them a jingle and then report back here what you found out?
