We adopted our pitbull/sharpei baby almost 10 years ago when my son, Brandon, brought her home, and she became the sweetheart of our lives. She had herniated disc surgery two times in the past four years, but she recovered wonderfully. A few weeks ago, Angel Bop was diagnosed with bone cancer, and today she is having her front left leg amputated. I didn’t know what to do when we heard this devastating news, but Tripawds was the first site that came up on my internet search, and I am so glad I found a place to read about and discuss the many many questions I have. I am still waiting for the doctor to call telling me she is actually in surgery, so I am on pins and needles.

We are going through the same thing with our dog, Bentley, left front leg amputation on 7/22/13 after diagnosed with bone cancer. I keep telling myself this is harder on me than it is on him but sometimes I find it hard to believe. He gets pretty tired from walking but has mastered the step going in and out of the house and gets around pretty well. First night home, I laid on the floor with him and bawled my eyes out. He was probably wishing I would get a grip! 🙂 We are scheduled to start chemo on 8/6. That will be scary because it’s an unknown. As long as he can handle it, I can handle it. Good luck to you!
